Why Does My Lifewand Say “Use By 08-2026”?
At Lifewand, we take safety and regulatory compliance seriously. That is why we follow strict life expectancy testing standards for medical devices.
When your Lifewand unit was produced, it carried the approved shelf life at that time: 2 years, printed as “Use By 08 2026.” Since then, additional testing has been completed, and the device is now approved for 3 years from the manufacturing date (July 2024), meaning it is safe to use until July 2027.
Ongoing testing continues, and we expect to reach 10-year certification in the near future. As the product's lifespan is verified through accelerated laboratory testing, future units will reflect updated “use by” dates.
Your Lifewand remains fully effective and safe within the updated timeframe to be used through July 2027. In reality, the device is engineered to perform for over 10 years, and we expect the official shelf life to reflect that within the coming year.

How do I prepare the Lifewand for use?
Before anything else, remove the device from the box and read the manual carefully. Familiarize yourself with the components and practice the cocking process a few times. A great practice is to use the device on your arm.
